The liberal Vice news service has a “sympathy” article about another illegal alien who is in detention, awaiting her deportation. These “sympathy” news reports have become routine as the liberal news tries to justify illegal immigration and illegal aliens that are detained.
In this case, the police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, stopped Tania Padilla Romero for failing to yield while making a left turn, and she was arrested for driving without a license. Because she is an illegal alien, she was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Furthermore, Tania had been ordered to leave the U.S. 10 years ago but ignored the order. She is on the verge of being deported back to Honduras.
Tania has been held at Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia since August while her son, Cristian, has been organizing a protest to demand her release. Cristian wants his mother released because she is recovering from Cancer.
The liberal news reporters mention that the detention facility is a “for-profit facility,” where the detainees are paid $1/day for their work. They cite the “for-profit” status because Democrats and open-borders activists are demanding an end to “for-profit” detention facilities. They oppose them mostly because federal employee unions are kept out.
The reporters also mention the $1/day salary paid to detainees for cleaning the facility. That’s because there is a lawsuit on behalf of illegal alien detainees “working” in the detention centers. The liberal/leftist attorneys want “maid service” for the illegals.
While this story is sad and tragic, we cannot make exceptions to immigration laws and rules. If the requirements are waived and bent for any reason, they become easy to ignore.
We also cannot reward any illegal aliens with any rights, privileges, or benefits. It would be interesting to see how Tania paid for her cancer treatment.
What’s the point of being a legal citizen if exceptions to the law let illegal aliens get the same rights, privileges, and benefits?
