Democrats and the liberal news media never cease to amaze with their shallow and agenda-driven thinking on gun control every time there’s a mass shooting. Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden, Julian Castro, and former candidate Francis “Beto” O’Rourke exhibited this foolishness, again.
Following the church shooting in White Settlement, TX, on Sunday, Dec. 29, Biden, Castro and O’Rourke criticized Texas Governor Greg Abbott for signing a bill into law that allowed lawful gun owners to carry firearms in places of worship. Biden called repeatedly called Abbott’s decision “irrational,” O’Rourke implied more gun-control is needed, and Castro said, “we need leaders who have the courage to act (act in taking guns?)”.
However, their reactions are politically motivated and directed at emotional voters. They ignore the facts.
First of all, the shooter came prepared to killed people. There’s little to nothing that could be done to prevent him from shooting someone at the church or elsewhere.
Second, it was the law-abiding churchgoers who were carrying guns that shot the criminal and prevented further carnage. Good guys with guns stopped a bad guy with a gun.
Facts and logic don’t matter to self-serving politicians and the liberal news reporters with an agenda. They both fan the fears and insecurities of people, rather than find solutions to punish criminal behavior.
Criminals don’t care about laws or civil behavior, and therefore more laws don’t help. Rather than hurt law-abiding citizens with more restrictions, criminals should be punished for their crimes.
