A Saul Alinsky group fronting for the radical Black Lives Matter called “Fix SAPD” has started gathering signatures over Labor Day weekend for a petition aimed at dismantling the San Antonio Police Officers Association in San Antonio. BLM groups across the nation are engaged in similar efforts as another way to defund and dismantle police departments. It also leaves police officers vulnerable to the liberal/leftist Democrats that run the city.
Fix SAPD claims they don’t want to abolish the police but want “police accountability.” However, their supporters continually scream to "abolish" the police and defund the police department. Their dislike for law and order is seen in their disruptive and lawless behavior, including protesting in quiet neighborhoods and removing statues.
Attacking SAPOA is meant to leave the individual police officers at the mercy of a liberal/leftist city government that has openly sided with Black Lives Matter. Their anti-police attitude is seen in their actions, comments, and policies.
The citizens of San Antonio need a strong police force with high morale, and SAPOA helps to provide that support for officers. If SAPOA is abolished, it will be difficult for the city to recruit and hire good quality officers, and public safety will suffer.
Instead of abolishing an organization that supports law and order like SAPOA, citizens should oppose one that encourages lawlessness, that excuses and justifies racial strife, and which demand taxpayer money to promote their anti-America agenda.
The citizens and voters of San Antonio must oppose “Fix SAPOA” and not sign their anti-police petition.
