“We’re not considering not relocating it.” That’s what liberal/leftist San Antonio City Councilman Roberto Trevino said regarding the Alamo Cenotaph late on Wednesday, July 18 after a meeting, and a double negative means a positive, which mean the city is planning to move the Cenotaph.
Trevino told people at the meeting that a new draft plan for redeveloping the Alamo will be made public next month, and it will illustrate why the 1930s Cenotaph has to be moved to provide a better visitor experience. Even though proposed plans to relocate the monument have been met with strong opposition, it appears the SA city officials, Texas General Land Office, and the nonprofit Alamo Endowment are not listening and don’t care to listen.
The Cenotaph honors 189 Alamo defenders killed in the 1836 battle and was erected in 1930, however the relocation appears to be similar to the removal of confederate statues by the liberal SA city leaders. Many feel this is another step to revise history and minimize the fight for Texas liberty.
