Felix Salgado Macedonia, a leader in the social-democratic political party National Regeneration Movement in Mexico (also known as the MORENA Party) Twitted a threat at President Trump and the United States on Friday, May 31. Salgado was responding to Trump's announcement to place tariffs on Mexican goods coming into the U.S.
Salgado Twitted, "don't even think we're afraid. We Mexicans are in our own land (California, Nevada, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wyoming). We will recover the land you stole. Long live Andres Manuel Obrador Lopez." A couple of obscenities were included in the message.
This more evidence of the radical anti-America politics that have always existed in Mexico, but that has bubbled into the open with Mexican President Lopez Obrador. The myth of "occupied Mexico" is prevalent among leftist in Mexico and in the U.S. who want to justify open borders and Mexican and Chicano nationalism.
Salgado showed his ignorance, not only in the use of vulgar expressions but also in history. Mexico exclusively "owned" the land from its independence from Spain in 1821 till the Texas independence in 1836, and the rest of the area till the end of U.S./Mexico War in1848.
Mexico has never forgiven or forgotten the Texas victory and U.S. victory, and the resulting loss of land. Since then, Mexican political leaders seem to suffer from an extreme inferiority complex to the United States and blame all their national problems and social shortcomings on America.
American leaders have historically taken Mexico's verbal antagonism for granted, however, in a time when Democrats and the American Left openly undermine law and order with inaction on border security and with sanctuary communities, American citizens in the southwest U.S. should beware.
Whether in politics, education, the media or in other venues, liberals and leftists are playing the Hispanic card always, especially in the southwestern United States. Liberal/leftist Hispanics' power could grow with the addition of "new immigrants" who are vulnerable to a left-wing message.
We already see how sanctuary communities protect illegal aliens, including criminals. There is also more and more tax money going fund bi-lingual education and other social services for the growing Spanish-speaking population.
Sadly, because of Spanish-language TV and radio, America is becoming a society where Spanish-speaking immigrants don't need to learn English or assimilate. These new immigrants increasingly separate themselves because of their language, and because they are not being taught to appreciate American history and the Constitution.
Whether Salgado's goal of "recovering of lost Mexican territory" becomes a reality or not, we should understand what is happening is the destabilization of American communities has started. That will affect the states and eventually, the nation.
Salgado's threat is just as serious any from the Iranian Mullahs or any other enemy of America.
