The liberal 9th Circuit Court ruled against two Trump administration immigration policies on Friday, Feb. 28, but they almost immediately suspended its ruling in the name of border safety. In the meantime, U.S. authorities had to close the Ciudad Juarez-El Paso border bridge, also on Friday, after more than a hundred mostly Cuban migrants tried to cross in response to a court ruling suspending an asylum policy.
The Trump policies are to control immigration. However, the liberal activist judges on the 9th Circuit Courts seem to undermine law and order.
The Court ruled 2-1 to block on the policy forcing migrants seeking asylum in the U.S. to wait in Mexico while their cases play out. They also ruled a 3-0 decision block on a rule seeking to bar asylum eligibility for migrants who cross the border between ports of entry.
As word spread on social media about the Court ruling, news reporters saw about 100 aliens on the Mexican side of the border quickly move towards the Juarez international bridge. Customs/Border Patrol officers closed the Paso Del Norte Bridge to stop the aliens from illegally and forcefully entering the United States, and that other ports stayed open.
The Court suspended its rulings after Chad Wolf, the acting Homeland Security secretary, said he was working with the Justice Department to appeal the earlier decision. Government attorneys said the initial ruling would imperil communities and cause chaos along the border where an estimated 25,000 asylum seekers in Mexico might decide to surge across the border.
The 9th Court’s “stop and go” actions were strange. However, they may reflect how liberal activist judges may be accepting the new conservative Supreme Court and the need to view cases with logic and the Constitution rather than with a political agenda.
Sadly, the liberal news media reported loudly and prominently that Trump’s policy had been “blocked,” but they were quiet on the Court’s suspension of its ruling. The liberal news bias never goes away.
