Green County, Missouri, is debating whether to become a “sanctuary city” to “protect” illegal immigrants from being deported. But what part of the word “ILLEGAL” don’t some people understand?
Local law enforcement opposes the idea. Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott says, “I think if you are here illegally in the United States, then you need to abide by the laws, and you need to be punished. The sanctuary city issue is they protect them. And they don’t allow their police to go after and identify these people.”
U.S. of Western District of Missouri Tim Garrison said, “We don’t oppose anybody trying to improve their lives by coming to the United States. I consider myself very blessed to be born here. I’m not opposed to immigration. My daughter is an immigrant. But we’re a nation of laws. Immigration has to be done lawfully.”
Garrison is one of the top federal attorneys in Missouri, and he helps manage illegal immigration cases in the Ozarks. He recently praised the cooperation of local police, and their effort to catch violent, illegal aliens, many of whom have been deported several times.
Liberal/leftist community leaders are quick to excuse illegal immigration and support illegal aliens. They claim the American immigration system is broken for people who want to come here legally.
But America has always welcomed legal immigrants and prosecuted illegal aliens. Liberal/leftist politicians and community leaders, backed by the liberal news media, excuse and justify illegal immigration. They also purposely confuse immigration issues by ignoring the word “illegal.”
Yolanda Lorge, president of "Grupo Latino-Americano," says immigration reform is needed. She suggests a new policy that allows “immigrants” to work here permanently if they have a clean record, pay taxes, and not be eligible for government assistance.
However, America has a policy that allows LEGAL immigrants to work in the U.S. The problem is ILLEGAL aliens who have no permission to be in the United States in the first place. Liberal/leftist politicians, community leaders, and liberal news media love to ignore the term ILLEGAL when discussing immigration issues.
National, state and local elected officials must protect citizens and legal residents and uphold the laws of the land, which include immigration laws. Democrats are fond of claiming that “no one is above the law,” when speaking about President Trump, but apparently, they believe illegal aliens are above the law.
