The Center for Immigration Studies is reporting that despite strong measures by the Trump Administration to limit the virus outbreak inside the United States, over 3000 refugees have been resettled in American communities. The resettlements happened between January 29, 2020 (the day the President’s Coronavirus Task Force to lead the U.S. government response to the coronavirus was formed), and March 18, 2020 (the deadline for this report). These are legal refugees, in addition to the thousands of illegal aliens who are detained in Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) centers or jails.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees have said that “refugees may be particularly targeted” by the coronavirus. Yet, the U.S has resettled 3,037 refugees, including 19 from Iran, which is one of the countries particularly affected by the coronavirus.
According to the report, the top-10 states where refugees were resettled from January 29, 2020, to March 18, 2020, are California, 341; Washington, 274; Texas, 207; New York, 201; Kentucky, 155; Ohio, 148; Michigan, 118; Illinois, 113; Pennsylvania, 106; and Arizona, 95.
Ironically, Democrat presidential front-runner Joe Biden is calling for admitting larger numbers of refugees, an end to the deportation of illegal aliens, and health care for all including illegal aliens. These policies will only encourage more illegal immigration on top of the additional refugees, and they will endanger American citizens.
American elected officials should consider stopping all immigration, including refugee resettlement until our health crisis and illegal immigration problems are under control. We cannot risk the health and safety of American citizens.
