Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Wednesday, Oct. 28, a five-day operation that caught over 100 illegal aliens, with more than 70% of them having criminal convictions and charges. The operation focused on those illegal aliens who pose “a significant threat to public safety” in those communities.
ICE officers in various areas across the country identified, located, and arrested criminal illegal aliens whose continued presence posed a significant threat to public safety. Operation Granite took place between Oct. 19 to 23 in Minnesota, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Texas and brought in more than 100 illegal aliens to be processed to be removed from the country.
The acting ICE Director Tony Pham said 70% had criminal records, including prior convictions, pending charges, or both. Those include convictions or charges for the kidnapping of a minor, domestic assault, burglary, sexual assault, cruelty toward children, sexual exploitation of a minor, and robbery.
While local liberal/leftist politicians continue to promote sanctuaries for illegal aliens, they also limit local police's authority and actions. These two actions endanger citizens and public safety.
