America and Texas are at the grips of the worst illegal immigration crisis in the nation’s history. The question for Texans and all Americans is what to do when the federal government welcomes and rewards illegal aliens.
As per the Constitution, if Biden Administration is providing taxpayer-funded benefits to people who have never paid into the public system or rights to people who entered the country illegally, state, county, and city governments must step up when the federal government does not act.
To understand this proposed idea for the illegal immigration crisis, we need to know how it was created.
Illegal immigration and contraband smuggling have always existed on the border but never like today. Illegal immigrants have been historically rewarded with employment, welfare benefits, education, and amnesty. Smuggling had been mostly goods and drugs.
However, America has never seen the massive number of illegal aliens nor the volume of lethal drugs as today. The impact of illegal immigration and drugs on local communities is the 2nd Phase of the Border Crisis.
So, what can American citizens do if the federal government does not protect the border from illegal aliens or dangerous drugs? The answer is that while the national government excuses and rewards illegal immigration, the state and local governments must do the opposite.
State and local governments must remove their “welcome” illegal aliens and create “citizen-only” public policies. For example, California and New York can be sanctuaries for illegal aliens, while Texas serves citizens only.
Texans should remember that these newly arrived illegal aliens have not paid anything into the public coffers but are receiving housing, medical, education, travel, and other forms of public assistance. This is not fair to citizens.
To establish state and local citizens-only policies, citizens must elect state and local officials who will enact these policies. Local elections are critical. Voters should support “citizen-only” candidates in local elections.
The recent overturning of Roe v. Wade allows states to enact their policies on abortion. However, the same legal theory can be used for providing public funding and services to illegal aliens. Furthermore, there needs to be a challenge regarding whether noncitizens, particularly illegal aliens, should receive benefits, rights, or privileges.
For now, Texans should not excuse and reward illegal aliens with education, employment, or public assistance. Instead, American citizens should be state, county, and city governments’ primary and sole concern.
