For several months Democrats and the liberal Media have been announcing a “blue wave” of Democratic Party voters was going to sweep Texas and change the state. However, Tuesday’s voter turnout did not show that to be the case at all.
In the gubernatorial runoff between Lupe Valdez and Andrew White, probably the most important election for Democrats to see who will challenge incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott, barely 420,000 Democrats voted. It was the lowest turnout since 1920!
This was not an isolated situation either. In the runoff for U.S. congressional district 27 special election to replace former Cong. Blake Farenthold in deep Democrat south Texas, the Democrats casted a 10,200 total votes for their two candidates. But GOP runoff winner Michael Cloud got 14,400 total votes all by himself.
There does not seem to be a “blue wave” for change developing for Democrats, at least not in Texas. Nevertheless, Republicans and conservatives need to be careful regarding general elections, as dead people and illegal aliens have been known to vote Texas.
