The liberal San Antonio media has branded SA councilman and candidate for mayor Greg Brockhouse with some negative stories and reports, while they favor Mayor Ron Nirenberg. Some of the news media call Brockhouse "a puppet of the City’s two most powerful unions" the police and the firefighters. They also keep repeating the allegation that Brockhouse was charged or involved in a case of domestic violence.
The police and firefighters’ associations have a long and established relationship with Brockhouse. On the other, Mayor Ron Nirenberg has sided with former city manager Sheryl Sculley who had a very antagonistic relationship with the police and firefighters. It makes sense the public safety associations would support Brockhouse.
The allegation of domestic violence comes from a news story by the liberal San Antonio Express-News (SAEN) published that questioned why a police report of an incident involving Brockhouse doesn’t exist? This question is like asking why isn't the moon made of green cheese. Nevertheless, the SAEN and their media friends keep repeating the question as if there was a credible answer and Brockhouse is hiding something.
The SAEN acts as the mouthpiece for the SA City Hall Establishment that Brockhouse is challenging. The “little people” that support him, in alliance with the firefighters, have defeated the Establishment twice, once regarding the streetcars project and again regarding the city charters that affected city manager Sculley’s employment.
It is evident that the Establishment does not want another loss.
Nazi propagandist Josef Goebbels said if you repeat a lie enough, it becomes the truth. That seems to be the journalistic plan in San Antonio to support Nirenberg.
If the truth makes people free, then lies bring them bondage. The voters and citizens of San Antonio, and in most other urban centers across the country, need to beware of the local media.
