New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday, Dec. 30, that 6,700 fans will be allowed inside Buffalo Bills Stadium to attend the Bills’ first NFL home playoff game since Dec. 28, 1996. While Cuomo shuts down restaurants, bars, and other small businesses, he is willing to “work with” the NFL and the Bills to allow fans to attend a game.
Cuomo claims this is New York’s first step in a first-in-the-nation pilot program to “re-open businesses safely” during COVID-19. Again, it’s ironic the Governor is willing to work with the NFL and the Bills on a safe solution, but not with small businesses.
The Plan developed by the (bureaucrats) NY Health Department requires fans to show proof of testing negative for a COVID-19 test administered 72 hours before the game via a drive-thru testing in the stadium parking lots. Fans with failed tests cannot attend the game, and the ticket is non-transferrable but refundable.
If that Plan and process work for attending a football game, why can’t it work for small businesses?
On Tuesday, Dec. 29, San Antonio’s Democrat Mayor Ron Nirenberg allowed people to attend the indoor Alamo Bowl football game, as long as they maintained a distance and wore a facemask. Twelve people were reportedly ejected from the stadium for not following instructions. Nirenberg has imposed a citywide curfew and even threatened to arrest people at family gatherings who exceeded his “guidelines.”
Democrat tyrants have shown their willingness to make adjustments – or exceptions – to their arbitrary COVID-19 mandates depending on the business and event. Their hypocrisy is clear and evident.
