Crime and violence keep rising in San Antonio, and still, liberals and leftists keep attacking the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) to dismantle it, demoralize the officers, and harm public safety. There is a new city charter amendment proposed designed to limit police activities, and a law enforcement task force that could benefit public safety, but in which SAPD does not participate.
On June 10, 2020, San Antonio’s version of “Black Live Matter” called then “Fix SAPD” vowed to dismantle the San Antonio Police Officers Association, to force their control over police officers including the hiring, promotion, discipline, and firing of officers. The anti-police radicals do not want justice, they want revenge and power so they can enforce laws.

In May 2021, Fix SAPD place a proposed charter amendment before San Antonio voters to “reform” the police by abolishing the SAPOA contract. However, then police officers are city employees working for a city government run by a city council and Mayor who are liberals and leftists. Proposition B appeared on the city ballot in May.
Furthermore, because Fix SAPD was a city-recognized nonprofit, it was funded by “dark” or unknown sources. City nonprofits can keep their donors anonymous by the city charter.

On May 1, 2021, Proposition B, which would have ended the police contract with the city of San Antonio, received more than 73,000 votes and lost by a margin of only 2.3 percentage points. The anti-police radicals claimed that lost the battle but not the war, and they would back.

Since the George Floyd incident and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement the SA Mayor and most of the City Council have sided with the anti-police radicals. Their fear of bad publicity has created SAPD policies that encourage criminals and limit law enforcement.
Now, a new radical anti-police group called Act-4-SA and led by the same people as Fix-SAPD is proposing a change to the city charter which further limits law enforcement and favors criminals.
Act-4-SA proposes a new city charter amendment called the "Justice (Just Us) Charter". If passed, they would use the new charter amendment to limit, control, and defund the police.
The Justice Charter would create a new city position that oversees the hiring, promotion, and firing of police officers. Police officers would be working for people who want to abolish them. Since Act-4-SA lost its Proposition B campaign last year, they are now gathering signatures to amend the city charter to fit their anti-police agenda.
The anti-police groups in San Antonio, as in other places around the nation, as led by insecure and immature people who do not understand police work or who want to undermine the local American justice system. This Justice Charter is meant to control, demoralize, and eventually abolish the local police force in favor of a liberal/leftist replacement.
If people want to see how a Justice Charter works, they should look at Austin where they have such as city charter and crime is rampant. When you excuse, tolerate, and reward bad behavior for any reason including race and income, you have more and worse behavior.
Law-abiding citizens and businesses must speak up and oppose this charter amendment which will create a more lawless environment than we currently have in San Antonio. We cannot have more liberal political interference with law and order.
