In the latest episode of soft-on-crime, on Friday, Feb. 24, George Soros-funded Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales in San Antonio dismissed charges against yet another defendant who was charged with murder. This is the third in a string of dismissals in recent weeks.
Unfortunately, the mainstream news media does not say much about these dismissals, while liberal politicians and leftist activists demand more “accountability” from police officers. A prime example is the proposed Justice Charter which will favor criminals and limit or punish police officers.
In the latest dismissal, Todd Hill, one of several co-defendants charged with the 2017 drive-by shooting of four-year-old De’Earlvion Whitley was dismissed. Hill, along with Terrell Chase, Quentin Phillips, Dakota Peppers, Michael Woodard, and John Chatmon were all arrested three years after the shooting and charged with murder. They were accused of shooting 65 shots into his home amid a turf war linked to gang violence on the city’s East Side.
This is the latest in a string of dismissals from the district attorney’s office in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, Jose Gerardo Gonzales, who was accused of the Oct. 2022 murder of a 48-year-old man, had his murder charge dismissed.
On Feb. 13, Kyle Phillips and Dorian Morphree had their capital murder charges dismissed. They both were accused of taking part in the robbery and fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman. The district attorney’s office said in those cases that further investigation was needed, and they couldn’t provide further comment on pending cases.
Gonzales’ soft-on-crime administration will create an ideal environment for criminals if the leftist, anti-police “Justice Charter” is approved by voters in May. The law-abiding citizens of Bexar County should demand DA Gonzales resign or be removed for placing them in danger with his liberal policies.
When you excuse and tolerate some crimes, you get more and worst crimes.
