While attending the 100 Club Spaghetti fundraiser this afternoon, I introduced myself to Democrat Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar and asked if I could take a picture with him. He recognized me and became visibly upset.
Salazar said I never said anything nice about him or SAPD Chief McManus. He was very upset about “the stuff” I had written and posted and refused to take a picture with me.
I have been critical of Salazar for investigating Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for alleged "human trafficking" of illegal aliens from San Antonio to other states but not investigating if there are any criminals or terrorists housed at the San Antonio Migrant Center. I have criticized the San Antonio city leadership, including San Antonio Police Department leaders, for instituting liberal police policies that hamper police work but favor criminals.
I invited Salazar to my show to respond to my criticisms, but he dismissed my invitation. He tossed my business card on the table disrespectfully and stood up challengingly. I smiled and walked away while a couple of the people who were sitting with him snickered.
It’s evident Sheriff Salazar reads what I write, and he doesn’t like it. However, an elected official who can’t stand the heat should stay out of the kitchen. More importantly, voters and citizens should beware of such a candidate or elected official.
