On Wednesday June 28, Leon Eugene Davis, a career criminal and repeat offender, was arrested on six felony charges, including theft of a vehicle for $150,000-$300,000, evading arrest, aggravated assault of a public servant, felon possessing a firearm, and more. His crime spree and arrest show the impact of the liberal Bexar County District Attorney and why the morale of the San Antonio Police officers is so low.
The San Antonio police did their job on Friday, March 10, and arrested Davis for warrants that included driving a stolen car and felon possessing a firearm.
However, the soft-on-crime District Attorney’s office did very little to stop this career criminal. Davis was out on bond when he was arrested and bonded again on the new charges of stealing a vehicle and felony possession of a firearm.
After Davis bonded out the second time, he stole a BMW. He was arrested on June 28 after a car chase in a (stolen vehicle) in which he endangered the public by ramming several police cars in his attempt to escape.
Davis has accumulated 23 charges in under three years. There are many other examples of career criminals walking the streets of San Antonio and Bexar County because their bond is set low.
Furthermore, SA Police Department leaders and SA city leaders have instituted policies and restrictions on police work that favor criminals and handicap the officers. This is because they fear the leftist community leaders and the liberal news media.
What good does it do for police officers to do their job if a career criminal is released almost immediately by the D.A.? While the D.A. is being soft on crime, the liberal city leaders are being tough on police.
Repeat offenders like Davis are career criminals and endanger law-abiding citizens daily. If San Antonio citizens want to understand why crime has risen in the past three years, it is because the police are punished, and the criminals are excused.
