Mario Salas, one of San Antonio's aging leftist activists, is trying to remain relevant by spewing misinformation about the San Antonio Police Officers' Association. Sala helps "Fix SAPD" - the local front for the Marxist Black Lives Matter - to push their petition to "hold police accountable," a backdoor approach to defund the police and punish officers.
Salas and "Fix SAPD" are also helped by two local "newspapers" that pander to local leftist/liberal activists, particularly younger, immature, and uninformed people. Their news items consistently dedicate most of their quotes and comments to the leftists and liberals rather than provide a balanced report.
All law enforcement officers, including police, are held accountable by federal agencies, state and local agencies. For example, the FBI and Civil Rights Division of the Justice Dept., the Texas Rangers and the Attorney General's office, and the County District Attorney are some agencies.
However, Black leftists want to undermine the judicial system by claiming racism. Rather than fixing the SAPD or any law enforcement agency, community leaders should fix the culture that encourages and justifies crime and anti-social behavior.
Because Salas is considered a civil rights "trailblazer," few people will openly challenge him. But he is just another race-baiter, and his comments need to be challenged.
"Fix SAPD" should fix their community's violent and anti-social culture and stop blaming the police.
