Republican Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina on Wednesday, May 15, announced a proposed bill that would end asylum claims from Central America at the border and return unaccompanied minors to their home countries. This proposed legislation is precisely what is needed to stop the current immigration crisis.
The proposed bill would end asylum claims by Central Americans with children at the U.S. border, and require that they apply at refugee processing centers set up in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador (known as the Northern Triangle) and in Mexico. People from these countries are overwhelming the immigration system by crossing into the U.S. and claiming asylum, being assigning a court date for their hearing on the claim, and then most disappear and never show up for their interview. These “migrants” then become illegal aliens in America.
